Clr. Jeff Whitton

Councillor Jeff Whitton is a highly accomplished and respected businessman, entrepreneur, company director, CEO, and local government councillor. He has been elected five times to the office of Local Government Councillor, serving the City of Orange Council for the past 20 years in various roles, including Deputy Mayor and Chair of all council committees, including Planning, Finance, Economic Development, and Infrastructure.

With over 40 years of experience in the Digital Technology and Cyber Security industry, Councillor Whitton is a highly regarded and respected technical expert and people leader. He has successfully led companies across Australia, New Zealand, and Asia as CEO and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Councillor Whitton has over 30 years of experience sitting on boards and currently serves on several boards as a Non-Executive Director and Chairman.

As a local government councillor, Councillor Whitton has had the honour of working closely with Australian Prime Ministers, State Premiers, and both State and Federal portfolio Ministers, and their staff. He has also had the opportunity to liaise with international dignitaries for political and trade relationships.

Councillor Whitton is passionate about social justice and the inclusion of Australia’s First Nations Peoples. He is a founding director of a First Nations company and serves as Chair of OCTEC, the number one not-for-profit Disability Employment Services provider in Australia. Additionally, Councillor Whitton is an Ambassador for NSW Investment and Cyber Hub, an external member of the infrastructure committee for the Board of Trustees at Western Sydney University, an Advisor to the Board at CI-ISAC Australia, an Advisor to the School of Computing at Macquarie University, and a member of the executive of the Australian Information Security Association, NSW.
